MTC Fan Cup Campaign - Terms and Conditions

A. These Terms and Conditions include provisions that limit and exclude the liabilities, obligations, and legal responsibilities of Mobile Telecommunications Limited (“MTC”) towards you and other individuals, and by accepting them, you, the ‘Customer’, ‘entrant’ or ‘participant’ acknowledge assumptions of risk and/or liability.
B. You must read these Terms and Conditions. By participating in the Campaign, all entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
C. Please read all clauses carefully. These Terms and Conditions must be read in conjunction with your MTC’s Standard Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and the relevant Content Service Terms and Conditions.
1. Campaign Overview
1.1. The MTC Fan Cup Campaign (“The Fan Cup Campaign”) is a promotional competition organized by MTC.
1.2. Eligible MTC customers stand the chance to win instant airtime.
1.3. Customers can participate in the Fan Cup Campaign and receive trivia Questions through recharging airtime or through subscribing to any of the selected MTC content services or upsells.
1.4. All existing Trivia participants as from 08 April 2026, will be carried over to participate in the Trivia Campaign for the MTC Fan Cup Trivia.
1.5. If you were a VIP participant prior to this Trivia Campaign, your VIP status will remain, however all accumulated points will be reset to zero at the start of this Campaign.
2. Campaign Period
2.1. The Campaign will run from 08 April 2026 at 00:00 and will continue until 19 July 2026 at 23:59 (“Campaign Period”).
2.2. Entries received after 19 July 2026, or the closing date of this Campaign, will not be considered.
2.3. MTC may, in their sole and absolute discretion, amend or withdraw the Campaign with notice to entrants.
2.4. After 19 July 2026, MTC Trivia will continue to run indefinitely and all participants will remain subscribed to the Trivia content services, unless they unsubscribe.
2.5. Participants should check updated MTC Trivia terms and conditions periodically for changes.
3. Eligibility - Who May Enter
3.1. To be eligible, the entrant must:
3.1.1. Be a natural person;
3.1.2. Be an active MTC Prepaid and Postpaid customer;
3.1.3. Be a Namibian citizen or permanent resident in Namibia;
3.1.4. Be 18 years or older. Minors may only participate under a guardian’s registered MTC number with written consent.
3.2. Participation in this Campaign excludes:
3.2.1. Off-net (non-MTC) customers;
3.2.2. Employees, directors, members, partners, consultants and agents of, or any other person who, directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by MTC or marketing service providers of this Campaign (and the spouses, life partners, immediate family members or business partners of the people or entities listed above). This means:
3.2.2.1. Supplier/s of goods and or services in terms of this Campaign;
3.2.2.2. Corporate, bulk, M2M (machine-to-machine), or data-only accounts;
3.2.2.3. Promotional partners, printers, advertising and promotional agencies, professional advisors and point of sale staff employed by or contracted to, or providing goods or services of any kind, to all the people or entities listed above during the Competition Period.
3.2.3. Entrants younger than 18 years old must have the written consent of their parent or legal guardian to participate in the Competition, with the parent or legal guardian providing proof of their relationship to the entrant.
3.2.4. Mobile numbers used to enter the Campaign or subscribed to any subscription service must be active on the MTC network at the end of the Competition. Should an entrant have entered the Campaign with a mobile number which is inactive on the MTC network at the end of the Competition, such entrant will be disqualified from the Campaign.
4. How to Enter and Earn Questions
4.1. Customers qualify for digital Questions by performing one or more of the following actions during the Campaign Period:
4.1.1. Airtime Recharge
4.1.1.1. Customers automatically earn trivia Questions upon recharging their airtime.
4.1.1.2. Recharging with N$50 or more in a single transaction qualifies for Questions according to the following tiers:

4.1.1.3. Upon a successful recharge, participants will receive an SMS containing:
4.1.1.3.1. The total number of Questions earned; and
4.1.1.3.2. A direct link (web-based platform) or a USSD menu code to access and play the Fan Cup Trivia game.
4.1.1.4. Once free questions are exhausted, Customers are prompted to subscribe to the VIP tier or purchase top-ups to continue playing.
4.1.2. VIP Subscription & Upsells
4.1.2.1. Subscribing to a selected MTC content service or upsell;
4.1.2.1.1. Customers can access the Fan Cup Campaign via subscribing to a selected content service via any of the following channels: SMS Blasts, Please Call Me, MTC Main USSD Menu, Mymtc.mobi, Google Ads, *131# Balance Check menu, TV and Radio Ads, Instore Advertising and/or MTC Staff Email signatures.
4.1.2.1.2. Upon visiting the link or dialing the USSD, customers are taken to the Fan Cup Trivia Campaign.
4.1.2.1.3. Customers need to subscribe to VIP status, and upon initial successful subscription, they will immediately receive Questions and continue to receive their Questions daily regardless of successful billing.
4.1.2.1.4. MTC will not send an SMS for every Successful Bill, however customers can access their Questions directly via the MyMTC App, http://trivia.mymtc.mobi; or *111#.
4.1.2.1.5. Once a VIP Customer runs out of questions, upsell prompts will appear.
4.1.2.1.6. By selecting an upsell, Customers will be subscribed to the additional service and receive an additional 3 daily Questions (‘Upsell Customer’).
4.1.2.1.7. Initially, Upsell Customers will receive their 3 Questions immediately. Thereafter, Upsell Customers will only get their Questions after every Successful Bill, or ‘Partial Bill’ (an amount less than the full value of the service daily subscription fee).
4.1.3. Subscription to the following MTC content services qualify for entry into the Campaign:

4.2. Questions can be accessed directly via:
4.2.1. The MyMTC App;
4.2.2. http://trivia.mymtc.mobi; or
4.2.3. By dialing *111# and following the prompts.
4.3. How to unsubscribe:
4.3.1. If you no longer wish to participate in the Trivia Campaign or VIP part of the Trivia Campaign, dial *111# and go to “My Profile” to opt-out.
4.3.2. You can also opt out of content services via *101# select 9 - Manage Services.

5. Points System
5.1. You will be awarded points for taking any one of the following actions described below while participating in the Trivia Campaign. Each point is equal to one entry into the applicable draw:

5.2. The Leaderboard for Trivia is for entertainment purposes only. It is based on the previous day’s points. Therefore, placement on the leaderboard does not determine or guarantee a prize or points.
6. Prizes
6.1. By participating in the Fan Cup Trivia Campaign, you may stand the chance to win one of the following prizes:
6.1.1. Instant daily airtime prizes
6.1.1.1. There will be a maximum of 6 winners per day for the Campaign Period.
6.1.1.2. The value of an instant airtime prize is N$200.
6.1.2. Weekly Play Station 5, EA Sports FC 26 and iPhone 17 (256GB)
6.1.2.1. There are a maximum of 15 winners for the Play Stations and 15 winners for the iPhones.
6.1.3. Monthly Maris Wallet cash and monthly Surprise prize.
6.1.3.1. There are a maximum of 45 winners for the Maris Wallet cash prize and 45 winners for the monthly Surprise prize.
6.1.4. The grand prize is 1 of 4 SUVs.
6.2. The total prize pool is valued at approximately N$3,000,000.
6.3. Prizes are strictly non-transferable and are not redeemable for cash.
7. Draw
7.1. MTC or its authorized agents will contact the winners once the draw is made. Winners will receive an SMS on the day that they win. An agent will call them immediately after this.
7.2. If a winner cannot be contacted within 3 (three) days from the date of the first SMS and/or call, or a notified winner refuses the prize or does not provide the necessary documentation within 15 (fifteen) days of notification, then MTC will contact the runner-up winner.
7.3. The prize is then forfeited by the initial winner. The same rules shall apply to the runner-up from the date of notification. Neither the winner nor any runner-ups will have any claims against MTC in this regard.
7.4. The winner should be the owner of the Mobile Subscriber Integrated Services Digital Network-Number (MSISDN) (cellphone number) used to participate in the Competition.
7.5. Any dispute of ownership of the MSISDN will result in that MSISDN being disqualified from this Competition.
8. Disqualification
8.1. MTC reserves the right to disqualify any participant who:
8.1.1. Is not eligible to enter this Campaign as per clause 3.2 above;
8.1.2. Provides false, inaccurate, or misleading information;
8.1.3. Attempts to manipulate or abuse the system (e.g., bulk SIM registrations, automated recharges, or fraudulent billing);
8.1.4. Engages in fraudulent behavior or collusion;
8.1.5. Fails to comply with these Terms and Conditions; or
8.1.6. Uses technical exploits or unauthorized access methods to gain advantage.
8.2. Disqualified participants forfeit all prizes and may be permanently excluded from future MTC promotions.
9. Liability and Technical Disclaimer
9.1. MTC, its respective directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, technical suppliers, contractors, subsidiaries and sponsors shall not be liable for:
9.1.1. Any loss, damage, or injury arising from participation in the Campaign, or from any amendments to the Prize details and/or the terms and conditions of this Campaign. All entrants (including the winners) hereby expressly indemnify MTC, its respective directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, technical suppliers, contractors, subsidiaries and sponsors, in this regard and shall hold them harmless from all and any claims;
9.1.2. System errors, technical malfunctions, network interruptions, or delays;
9.1.3. SMS delivery failures or delayed notifications due to third-party network issues.
9.2. MTC will make every effort to maintain the availability of all campaign platforms (MyMTC App, mymtc.mobi, USSD), but temporary downtime or maintenance periods may occur.
9.3. Where and when applicable, the winner shall be liable to pay any applicable tax related to the Prizes in clause 5 above.
10. Prize Substitution and Transfer
10.1. Prizes are not transferable, non-exchangeable, and not redeemable for cash.
10.2. MTC reserves the right to substitute a prize with another of equal or greater value if the original prize is unavailable.
10.3. Once a prize is handed over and acknowledged, MTC will not be liable for any loss, damage, or theft.
11. Data Protection
11.1. All personal information collected during the campaign will be handled in accordance with MTC’s Data Protection and Privacy Policies.
11.2. MTC will not share participants’ personal information with any unauthorized third party.
11.3. Winners’ names and photos will only be published with their written consent.
12. Governing Law
12.1. This Campaign and its Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Namibia.
12.2. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Namibia.
13. Regulatory Approval
13.1. This Campaign has been submitted to and approved by the Namibian Lottery Board under the Lotteries Act, 2017 (Act No. 15 of 2017).
14. Final Provisions
14.1. By entering the Campaign, all entrants give their consent to receive various marketing and promotional material from MTC. Entrants will be provided with an opportunity to “Opt Out” of receiving such communications, which may be via the relevant medium that such marketing communication was received.
14.2. By participating, all entrants confirm their acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
14.3. MTC reserves the right to amend, suspend, or terminate the Campaign in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
14.4. All decisions by MTC regarding the Campaign are final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.
14.5. MTC reserves the right to withhold a prize if fraud or abuse is suspected pending investigation.
